Online Foreigner Entry Card Submission Launched
Starting from November 20, 2025, foreign nationals traveling to China can complete their entry information online in advance through the following channels:
- The official website of the National Immigration Administration (NIA) (https://en.nia.gov.cn/)
- The government service platform
- The “移民局12367” mobile app
- WeChat and Alipay mini-programs
- Scanning the entry card QR code on mobile devices
For those unable to submit the information online prior to arrival, alternative options are available at Chinese ports of entry:
- Scanning a QR code at the immigration inspection area via mobile phone
- Using on-site smart devices to complete the online form
- Filling out a paper Foreigner Entry Card manually
Exemptions from the online entry card requirement apply to the following seven categories of foreign nationals:
1. Holders of a Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card of the People's Republic of China
2. Holders of a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (non-Chinese nationality)
3. Those entering with a group visa or eligible for group visa-free entry
4. Travelers under 24-hour direct transit who do not leave the port’s restricted area
5. Cruise passengers who enter and exit China on the same cruise ship
6. Travelers using fast-track immigration channels
7. Foreign crew members of inbound/outbound transport vehicles
